According to Greeff Properties, the 12 luxury apartments are all north-facing. There are eight two- and four three-bedroom apartments. The high-security apartments sold from R2 million to R3.3 million.

According to Greeff Properties no departures from zoning, traffic or other bylaws were needed for the development. Residents and community organisations have not been invited to comment on or object to the development and by the time the WRRA became aware of the development, apartments were already being advertised and construction had already begun.

WRRA chairperson Kristina Davidson said she was concerned about the development’s location on Malton Road, as it is one of the narrowest roads in the suburb and it was not quite clear where the entrance and exit will be. There is also concern about the aesthetic of the development and whether it would blend in with Wynberg or possibly be more suited to the Atlantic seaboard . . .
