HELP THE HAVEN – AND THE HOMELESS
The Haven shelter has an open day on Friday. Attend and find out more about the “Give Responsibly” campaign and how you can contribute to give homeless people hope.
Address 16A Piers Road
When we provide financial and material help directly to homeless persons living on the street, we are merely enabling him to continue living on the streets, says Pius Okiror, manager of The Haven in Wynberg. “Inadvertently, we harm that vulnerable person by increasing his alienation from his family, friends and home community. ‘Giving responsibly’ means providing real help, for instance by rather referring the homeless person to The Haven. We will help him get back to a home, family and community.”
More information: Phone Pius on 073-681-3734 or email him.
